Many individuals and corporate partners invest in United Way through the Annual Campaign. Tribute Giving

Tribute gifts to United Way are a special opportunity to recognize and remember important people in your life. Such gifts can be given on holidays and for special occasions, such as a birthday, graduation, or anniversary or to honor the memory of someone special. When making a living honor tribute, please provide the contact information for the individual being honored and reason for the gift. When making a memorial tribute, please provide the name of the person being remembered and the contact information for the most immediate family member. For both honor and memorial tribute gifts, an acknowledgement of your gift - not the gift amount - will be shared with the individual or family member.

Planned Estate Giving

Planned estate gifts to United Way of Adams County ensure that critical health and human service programs remain available for generations to come. The most common way to plan an estate gift is to include the United Way of Adams County in your Will……through a specific bequest amount, a percentage of your estate, or whatever is left after all distributions have been made. Through bequests, life insurance, charitable trusts, or retirement benefits, donors at all levels can leave a legacy in our community, such gifts may also have significant tax benefits.

A Charitable Annuity can be funded by a gift of cash, property or appreciated stock. In addition, you will receive an immediate income tax savings through a charitable contribution deduction and a capital gain tax savings for gifts of appreciated stock.
 

Charitable IRA Rollover

An investment in United Way through a charitable IRA rollover gift is an excellent opportunity to support the work of United Way. By law, individuals must begin withdrawing IRA assets at the age of 70½. Gifts made from an IRA up to $100,000 per year) are not reportable as taxable income and may lower your annual taxes. Talk to you IRA administrator about the benefits of an IRA rollover gift.

The Adams United Legacy endowment fund is administered through the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri. Restaurant Days

United Way Wednesdays, our fundraiser with local restaurants, takes place each fall as a way for local restaurants to support critical United Way programs. One restaurant will be featured each Wednesday from July through December.
