Why Become a United Way of Adams County Sponsor?

When you sponsor United Way of Adams County, you are leading the way for your community.

•    UNITED WAY HELP LINE: We have one of the few United Way Helpline’s left in the state. Our Helpline provided assistance for 921 calls in 2023. The assistance includes but is not limited to rental and housing assistance, utilities, transportation, birth certificates and community information.

•    Good News of Christmas: Good News of Christmas provides Christmas not just for the children in the house, but for the whole family. In 2023 we were able to provide gifts and household items for 92 children and 40 adults.

•    Community Building Council: The Community Building Council (CBC) convenes create a plan to improve the health and wellness of Adams County by addressing our greatness needs. CBC Housing Team focuses on access to safe and livable housing, CBC Poverty Team focuses on lifting families out of poverty through sustained financial stability and CBC Behavioral Health Team focuses on improving access to behavior health services including mental health and substance use disorders.

•    Unmet Needs: United Way of Adams County co-chair’s and hosts Unmet Needs. Through this we are able to provide financial support clients who for other reasons may not be able to get financial assistance from other avenues. They provide assistance with rent, utility payments, home and car repairs and medical care.

•    VOAD: Adams County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster member agencies work with local government partners to see that immediate needs are addressed and that long term recovery efforts are not duplicated.

•    InterAgency: InterAgency council meets monthly to give local social service agencies the opportunity to network with each other and learn more about local resources.

•    Veteran Services: United Way of Adams County partners with the VA in multiple ways to create resources for Veterans.
