United Way of Adams County is excited to announce the appointment of Adams County native Makayla Buckley as the new Director of Programs and Services. Buckley brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community development, making her an invaluable addition to the team.
Buckley has spent the past several years working in social media and marketing, gaining experience in communications, outreach and engagement. Her passion for community impact has been evident throughout her journey. She actively contributed to initiatives that uplift and empower residents, showcasing her dedication to creating meaningful change.
Her professional journey includes impactful work with the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Missouri, where she supported efforts to raise awareness for breast cancer research. At Blessing Health, Buckley excelled in planning and managing events, creating opportunities for meaningful connections. Her ability to organize and execute events that engage and inspire participants highlights her commitment to fostering positive community relationships. She also contributed to planning and coordinating Rethinksgiving, a local food drive hosted by Rethink Media.
In her new role, Buckley will oversee direct programs and services for United Way of Adams County. Responsibilities include chairing the Unmet Needs committee, responding to the Helpline, assisting with Veteran services, and coordinating the annual Day of Caring. Her experience with planning, outreach and marketing will play a vital role in developing strong community connections and showing up for individuals in need.
